Remaining Appointments?

I know they're on spring break right now. That's the only reason I could really see there not being one.
Cadets, midshipmen and students get spring break. Hard-working federal civil service folks in Admissions, and the military staff, do not.

Weekend work depends on the op tempo at the time.

Things could also be in queue to release with an automatic system update.

You will have just as much luck breaking out a vintage Magic 8 Ball and consulting it!

Here are the classic Magic 8 Ball answers:

● It is certain.
● It is decidedly so.
●Without a doubt.
● Yes definitely.
● You may rely on it.
● As I see it, yes.
● Most likely.
●Outlook good.
● Yes.
●Signs point to yes.
● Reply hazy, try again.
● Ask again later.
● Better not tell you now.
● Cannot predict now.
●Concentrate and ask again.
● Don't count on it.
● My reply is no.
● My sources say no.
●Outlook not so good.
● Very doubtful.

I think we're in the third column if I had to guess

Hi all!

Okay, without revealing "things" I am not at liberty to share at present...currently, just under 1000 offers have been made to the class of 2026, as of this morning. That's from USAFA/RRS today.

What is the total number to be made? I can't say (I don't know).

Now, my personal (ALO) thought. If you have heard nothing it does not mean you're not going to. It also doesn't mean you will either. I always work from a "plan B, C, D, in case" position. If you have not heard yet, start looking at Plan B "in case." You may need to implement it; you may not, but you won't know until you hear officially. In the meantime, let no deadlines go by re: Plan B.

This is a direct "cut/paste" from the information I have: "As offers are accepted and declined, we will see some additional offers thru May. Non-selects should work their backup plans, but keep watching." Note: if you haven't received a letter saying you are a "non-select" then at present, you're not.

I know this isn't what you want to hear; it's just me being realistic.

Do you know if that number includes Prep and/or Foundation? Thank you

This number only includes direct entry to USAFA.

And for the others asking about "another wave" I would ask you to think about the size of the academy classes. With approximately 1000 out there...there won't be another "wave." There will be small batches (10-20 perhaps) occasionally, and "onesy-twosey's" from now until May, most likely.

What is a “non-select”? Is it different from the rejection letter??

Non select is the nice way of saying rejection. They are one and the same. Reminds me of the George Carlin skit on soft language
Will their be a wave of non-select / reject-no interest notifications coming soon? Wondering how this has happened historically?

Last year in mid-April (the 18th I think) a large batch of rejections came out, so it'll probably be the same this year.

Ok Thanks. Do you know if SA waitlists candidates?

There is not a traditional waitlist. There is what is known as the National Pool. All qualified candidates with nominations are put into it. The top 150 in the pool ranked by WCS will be offered appointments first. After the top 150, USAFA can select any of the remaining candidates that it chooses.

Are those top 150 typically offered appointments last, and all at one time? Or do you think some has already received appointments?

I have no way of knowing that. Only admissions knows for sure where they are at with appointments. Any speculation by anyone who doesn’t work in admissions is futile.
