Roller coaster I: Get Us (The Parents) Through Plebe Year - Class of ‘26 🎢

Your 5/7/5 is a bit off. :p
Unlimited poetic licenses have been distributed, though we can still hope for syllabic compliance.

At holiday meals, DH’s family often fondly recalls long-departed Uncle Bennie, who would intone “Counters don’t get any” accompanied with a stern look to squabbling kids over who got how many of what.

Some poems at be more haiku-ish. I’m just glad people’s whimsy has popped up.

DD back from Sailing. She did enjoy the Block Island and Boston stop overs. Had a harrowing trip back as they left the Atlantic for Delaware Bay. Winds forty five knots and waves between ten and fifteen feet high. Sick, cold and very wet as they made it through and sailed on.

She did fly out of BWI yesterday for Protramid. On to more interesting things she said. Sorry to hear of others who did not get to go on that flight. Hopefully they will get to make up the lost time.

I feel we are not getting these captured in the Haiku thread anthology that is building.
... still in practice mode at the syllable counter level... get 'em next time.
Rhetorical questions: Why don't we just use a freestyle Haiku as long as it's 17 syllables?
And why must it stay 5-7-5 format? Is someone crying if there's a 3-9-5 Haiku?
Why am I doing Haikus indoors when I could be surfing now?

... so DS doesn't think highly of the Plebes. 🤔 I reminded him that you were a Plebe a year ago. "Yah," was the reply. According to him, the Plebes are now allowed to look at their food when eating (vs "box" method) and doing less PT.

Pretty sporty conditions. What kind of vessel was your DD on?

Thank you Capt. MJ for the above info. I knew the boats were forty four-ft but was not au fait with all the other specifications.
