Your 5/7/5 is a bit off.
Yes... been reading about Haikus lately and something about Japanese words/idioms have no English versions... then someone here suggested using a syllable counter. So it's like a freestyle haiku as long as the total is 17 syllables.Your 5/7/5 is a bit off.
Unlimited poetic licenses have been distributed, though we can still hope for syllabic compliance.Your 5/7/5 is a bit off.
I feel we are not getting these captured in the Haiku thread anthology that is building.Red sky and sailor's delight,
Lighting storm approaching,
Pray, sign of cross.
... still in practice mode at the syllable counter level... get 'em next time.I feel we are not getting these captured in the Haiku thread anthology that is building.

Pretty sporty conditions. What kind of vessel was your DD on?DD back from Sailing. She did enjoy the Block Island and Boston stop overs. Had a harrowing trip back as they left the Atlantic for Delaware Bay. Winds forty five knots and waves between ten and fifteen feet high. Sick, cold and very wet as they made it through and sailed on.
Pandora’s box, this.What have I started…

Wow. On a 44-ft in 45-knot winds, hope not sustained. Not a pleasant ride to say the least. Kudos to all the mids on it, that is sailing baptism by fire, for sure.
Let’s hope they reefed in fast enough and ran with a handkerchief.Wow. On a 44-ft in 45-knot winds, hope not sustained. Not a pleasant ride to say the least. Kudos to all the mids on it, that is sailing baptism by fire, for sure.
