The airframe my DW flew had an issue in the early 1990’s where engines were flaming out. The problem was traced to a coding bug in the DEC (digital electronic control) that would cause it to shut off the fuel under certain parameters. Which, of course, has much to do with the OP.

This is something you need to sort through. Most of the pros and cons are fairly obvious and I don't know enough to point out the less obvious. There are plenty of threads on this very topic which i'm confident you can locate with the search function or Google search..

Sea vs Land. Size of landing strip. Whether the landing strip is motionless or not. Which do you prefer because in the end its personal preference.
