Still in the game

Our DS interviewed in Concord...BGO was an attorney. Meeting was in remote barn office that shared space with a wedding venue.

Zero contact, support, or guidance through the process.

While we live in Massachusetts - my DS had the same experience with his BGO. Great interview last August then pretty much nothing. No help, support, guidance etc....emails would go unanswered or very brief and long after the question was asked. He found it very frustrating.

Separate to some of the tales about BGO's posted here, I had an excellent experience with my BGO. I started my application in June, contacted her the first week in July, and had my interview done a week later. She was there to answer my questions and perhaps bent the rules to help me sort out a problem with my application that could have sunk my chances at an appointment.

Good luck to all as you explore your options. TWE in MA. dated 4/7, mailed 4/9, rcvd over weekend while we were away exploring our options. Very glad the wait is over and we can objectively look at all DS's options. This was quite the process. I've never posted, but I've read everything from start to finish.

Mrs. M and prepswimmom: I hope you had a fabulous dinner in DC.

Mrs. M: It was nice meeting you.

I am sorry to hear about your TWE. I heard about your chance meeting. We had a great time in DC with our DS's. It was so great to meet one of my lifelines through this process. We didn't go away empty handed - DS and I now have new friends we will have for a long time.

As this crazy time known as USNA admissions winds down I want to take the time to thank EVERYONE that joined me on this forum as we laughed, cried, consoled each other, shared stories, hopes and dreams for our awesome kids. Mrs.m, Navymomwannabe, wompwomp, currey, dell, Lofgren6, smmtx1,
NJ-USNA2018hopeful, bubalma, Sportsmom4, mdn18, rudyinok, kinnem, Roseville, Pmooney, mista, dguts18, Ratdawg81, and everyone else that ever posted on this amazing thread I thank you. Even though DS was unsuccessful in his bid to become a MID - we both gained so much as you all became part of our daily lives for one moment in time. I personally will never forget any of you. And because you all came along for this crazy ride, this thread achieved staggering numbers that I am pretty sure will never be beat. Candidates and their parents will be reading our musings for years to come. I wish all of your children every success in their future endeavors whether at USNA or a civilian school. This country they all hope to serve will be in very good hands from what I have read. And to all the parents - I bid you all farewell. Perhaps some of us will meet in this same spot next year if our kids follow thru and reapply. If not, know that you made a difference in my life and in DS's life.

Prepswimmom, Thank you for your support along this journey. You have challenged our views and opinions, shared our tears, and given your unyielding support to the common cause, the success of our children. I appreciate your role in maintaining my sanity during this roller coaster ride. To all of the other wonderful people who have contributed to this thread, I thank you. Each and every one of you are special, and your children will do great things with their lives. Well done group, well done.

Thanks Spelly. It's been a pleasure sharing this time and space on the forum with you.

Prepswimmom,

A simple thanks for the thread. What a consolation and companion on this journey it was.

I hope we meet on the pool deck or at Catholic!

Thanks Prep. I am grateful for this thread and the camaraderie that was created here. I know that all of our sons and daughters will do very well in whatever their chosen path and I am sure many of them will meet at navy events in the future. At this point, I probably will not be joining you on the re-apply roller coaster. DS is happy with his NROTC option and had no interest in yet another standardized test! But I will continue to root for those who try again, while trying to learn all the ROTC acronyms! :thumb:

Good luck to all. I'm looking forward to reading your good news today!

Roseville DS had an amazing visit this past weekend. Spent an overnight with the swim team and loved all of them as well as the coach. He can't wait to swim for them. He also tested into 3rd year Chinese and was thrilled with the internship possibilities. Only negative is it is the only school he applied to without NROTC. But he is so excited to start. Still reapplying to Navy, also spoke with Army Hoya Battalion and has OCS on the table for after college. In short it's all good and I am sure we will meet.....

Thanks, prepswimmom! You were a topic of conversation in our home on a regular basis, i.e. "What's happening on prepswimmom's thread today?" I had the table turned on me with all of my internet lectures when my teen sons teased me about spending too much time on the forum and posting on a site that anyone could be reading...
Honestly, it was a comfort to know that so many well-qualified candidates received the TWE and to have been prepared for the timing of its arrival. This DS has moved on with his plan to attend a civilian school and will not reapply. However, I may be back in the future if DS #4 decides to apply.
Thanks for the support and best wishes to all for a bright future!

Thank you for the support folks, nothing in the box! I find it somewhat comical that I have stalked this silly thing to not receive a thing from it. Academy answer is that we will here by April 15, so I am now watching for carrier pigeons ;)

May your pigeon be swift and not poop on your lawn.

Here's hoping currey!!

so mysterious.... keep us posted .. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you Currey !

I did, we were told that we will hear by the end of April 15th!

Who's end? End of the work day in Annapolis? End of the day, as in 11:59 PM? Or end of your rope?

I hope you hear good news so we can laugh about how they kept you to the last possible moment...do you feel like at this point you are on a bloopers/practical joke kind of show...how long will she keep opening that box? :shake:

Best of luck!!!

I love the humor on this thread, as we all wait with currey for the final answer. Currey, we are all holding our breath, crossing fingers and saying a prayer, for a happy ending!
