The Waiting Club

Just got this from my BGO: “The Admissions’ Board did not complete its review/initial screening of all records until a week ago”

So what exactly does this mean? All decisions have been made but not all have been released yet?

My son got a voicemail message this morning from our congressman that he got accepted to Air Force!! Not showing in portal yet. Is there usually a phone call like that first?

I've been told it depends on the congressman. Still waiting here.

jrwork is correct regarding an MoC call. Typically, USAFA will reach out to the MoC that is being charged with that candidate a few days prior to the portal change so the MoC can personally contact the candidate.

A thing you need to realize is that although you could be on every MoC slate, it doesn't mean you will be charged to that MoC. Nor does it mean that if you are charged to the MoC they will reach out to you.
~ Look at where you sent your request for a nom. For example, our DS sent all of his request/application to their office in our state, not to the DC office. If the office in your home state does not relay it in a timely fashion, and if the MoC is busy voting on bills, than they may not reach out to you.

So don't look into this as anything more than this was the MoCs way regarding appointments.

To the person who received a voicemail from their congressman in Texas - Please post the name of your congressman. We are from Texas too but haven't heard anything. Thank you!

My DS was PPQ for about 3 days prior to getting DQ (for braces). Now, I'm torn- he's getting them OFF at his next appt. (4/23)- so I don't know if I should have the orthodontist sign another form saying this bc obviously needing a waiver will be a moot point after they are off.

If I was in your place I would go ahead and get a note from the orthodontist at the 4/23 appt stating he no longer wears braces. I'm not sure if it's too late or not but wouldn't hurt to have that piece of paper on hand just in case.

I have been PPQ since November with a congressional nomination- still no news. But I'm excited about my plan B school that I can attend on AFROTC scholarship and the AFROTC detachment is excellent. Hopefully USAFA gets back to us this week.

Pls disregard request to post name of congressman. Just tired of waiting but don't want to bend any unknown rules or upset anybody. Have contacted our rep. Good luck!
