An anxious mother would love to know by what form of communication have you received your appointment notice. Snail mail, Fed Express, email, call from MOC?

I got mine by snail Mail (USPS). I have heard of MOC's calling or maybe your ALO. Your online status is probably the quickest method, it will usually change before anything else will.

We heard from the coach when we were out on our official visit, guess that says my son is an athlete. About a week later we got a phone call from our congressman informing us of the appointment. Then about three weeks later we got the big, fat, white envelope. Good luck!!!
 
My son saw his nomination (he had an LOA) first on the online site, but then was called about the appointment by the MOC about a week before he got it, and it didn't show up on his online until a week or so afterwards. So it may certainly vary!
 
Got a phone call from my MOC.

Online was actually the slowest. It changed about 2 weeks ago.
 
Son first received call from Congressman who nominated him. Got the appointee packet in the mail today; on line site did not reflect change of status also until today--five days after the call from the Congressman.
 
DO NOT EXPECT the ALO to call you about an appointment!

Why?

Because typically we hear from YOU that you have an appointment!

USAFA doesn't keep us as well in THAT loop as most of us would like!

So if you get your appointment, PLEASE call your ALO!

He or she will CELEBRATE just as you do!!!

D heard from her coach first that she received her appointment 11/13. Her MOC called 11/16 and her white envelope came snail mail Dec 29th.
She called her ALO to let him know.
