Trophy Back Home

Didn't see the game but the score was pinned on my phone all day. BZ Army!

"Back home..."

Uh-huh...

Okay...since I'm still seething at the AF team's "performance" today...not to discount Army, they played well enough to win, and congratulations to them! Sincerely, congratulations!!

Now two things...first, we need to get a new coach. I like Troy, he's a nice guy and I have enjoyed the times I've met with him. But it's time. And second...

"Home?" Hmm...let's see...

I'm thinking, over time, "home" has been in Colorado although those folks from Canoe U are closing in...

Okay...all kidding aside...Army has had a great season; 9-2...that's worthy of HUGE accolades and especially this year!!!

Kudo's to the Black Knights of the Hudson!!!! Well earned!!!

Steve

It was a great defensive game. The helmet to face mask shot was awful. The turnovers made a difference and the lack of confidence in going for it on downs versus kicking was not a good look. Army won their game. Well done.

Did anyone notice the blubber guts on some of those Air Force linemen??? Grossly obese, I can’t believe they were permitted to let their weight get that out of control. They will need a VERY LONG yellow sash to fit around that gut! Obviously they will be piloting heavy lift cargo planes!

Yep, noticed! As a former wide butt lineman, even I thought there was some extra girth. I tend to be forgiving to the OL's of the world but, yes, some of those young men are going to be shedding some tonnage soon.

Funny mental picture! 🤣

For general knowledge. All of the SAs have carefully designed re-conditioning programs that start immediately after their last game to reduce caloric intake and increase caloric expenditure, so they drop the weight safely and are back in standard by graduation. They must meet commissioning standards.

Many USNA football players go Marines, and those players double-down on the program with a fury, so they don’t lose their chance to join a service well-known for its intolerance of a gut of any kind.

“The Biggest Loser” has nothing on the intensity of the military academy de-fatting programs. One of the coaches whose mission it is to do this takes them in hand to lead them through the program. Team docs are involved to ensure all is done safely.

Within a few months, you see them in baggy dress uniforms, lean and fit in a way they haven’t been in years.

It always amazes me to see what NFL linemen look like after they retire.

I would love to see the workouts and diets these people go on.

I have lost 60 on keto in the last 4 months - joined a gym but couldn’t handle the mask requirement working out as an asthmatic so haven’t worked out.

What a great end to the ARMY football season!
I didn’t like the fact that the AF player was not penalized for the helmet to helmet hit.
It may have been unintentional, but it still happened.

it was a hard fought game and exciting to watch!
There was a lot of history made this year for ARMY that was cool too!

There's an old saying in football: "There are more games lost then are ever won."

This game is a case in point: 2 Interceptions, 2 missed Field Goals, & back-to-back False Start penalties just isn't going to get it done against a determined opponent playing it's last game at home.
I was not a fan of AF's play calling as well as end-of-game clock management.
I mean if AF played that way against Navy, even Navy would've beaten them!

Bowl game cancelled. Bummer.
A 9-2 team left without a chair when the music stopped.... Ugh.

Tongue in cheek.

I’m sorry to be the one to say it. Army and Navy see those temporary stops in Colorado as irrelevant to the actual rivalry or CIC Trophy stats.

Now, if one of my kids ends up at AF, perhaps I will actually be sorry.

That said, I truly appreciate what you do for the SAF!! Thanks Flyer83.
