I will be going to beast this month. There is one cadre/yuk that I had conflict with before— Will I be In contact with him as a plebe? He is my ex GF’s older brother and said he would find me there and make beast harder for me. Should I be concerned?

Just based on my experience through my DD when she was at Beast. There are over 1000 of you and lots of Cadres so chances of him tracking you down are slim. Beast is really tough as it is so there's not much he could do to make it any harder. I do have to say, West Point cadets should have the upmost supportive and compassionate character as leaders, in my opinion, so he doesn't sound like a good leader.

Could he humiliate me in any way or mention personal stuff that happened in his little sister’s and mine relationship?

I really don't see how. Hes being critiqued himself for future leadership promotions. If he's out of line, it will hurt him. This is part of his training too so it's too risky for him.

Your job will be to have your game face on at all times, work your butt off, take the high road, not respond or provide any reaction to any provocation that tends to the personal (so you don’t provide any enjoyment as a special target). Be such a strong performing plebe that he will have a hard time faulting you and lose interest of the inappropriate kind.

Trust in his peers as well. They check each other if someone seems to be out of norms or focusing n one plebe too much.

I suppose in my view whether you should be concerned depends on how badly you treated his little sister.

Seriously though, if the upperclassman is class of 2024 (recent Yuk), no chance you'll be in contact with him during Beast. If the upperclassman is class of 2023 (recent Cow), you won't know till you get there. He could even be your Squad Leader. ;) Of course, chances are you'll never see your ex GF's older brother even if he is assigned to a Beast detail.

I figure OP’s only response if ever asked about the ex-GF would be “Sir, Ms. GF was a goddess beyond reproach, and I never deserved her, sir!”

No. Meet all of the standards; that's the only job you have and all you should concern yourself with.

The universe seems to work these grievances out.

There was one time when I wanted to go make life hard for a 4* that had crossed me in a former life.... I forgot about making a visit to his room, and the next morning he was arrested for murder (from back home). I'm guessing that was way worse than me talking to him at an elevated volume level.

@US2021 These comments about your avatar come from a place of concern. SAF is not personal social media; it’s an anonymous Internet forum. Fun avatars, dog avatars, etc., are the norm here. Your privacy is valuable. You’re headed to USMA, you’ve posted your photo with some revealing personal history. Someone at USMA may see this and decide to have some fun with it. It would not be fun for you. Unlikely, yes, but why increase your vulnerability to exposure.

Was this the cadet-mid duo Texas murder when they were HS seniors?

Yes ma'am. That would be the one - thankfully this is super rare and there are not multiple similar cases to sort through!
