My questions also. D has accepted for C/O 2027, so wondering if something is going on with C/O 2026. Even if there is a usual 15%-20% drop out rate by graduation, these numbers are occurring before the end of the first year.
Just random thoughts, could the school shut downs during covid have impacted the students' academic readiness? Even with the "free" tuition, is it getting harder to attract and retain kids who may not be committed to the military academy mindset? Are the physical demands too taxing and foreign to many college-aged kids?
Not judging anyone's decision wrt staying at USAFA; I don't know if I could get through four years myself. Just wonder what other people's thoughts are, especially now that my D will be a Doolie next year, and if I'm being honest, it is concerning as a parent to hear that so many have dropped out so early in the game.
