USNA 2026 Waiting and.… Waiting

Did it say there was an offer to NAPS should he/she not get pulled for an Appointment from the wait list? or was it a seperate offer to NAPS?
It said NAPS-Waitlisted meaning there is a waitlist if someone does not accept they will draw students from the waitlist

NAPS Waitlisted. Does this mean I am no longer competing for a direct appointment?

Does the NAPs offer come at the same time as being informed about the wait-list for appointment?
Any time Admissions deems it is the right time. One does not trigger the other.

If you are waitlisted for a direct appointment, that implies you are fully qualified for a direct appointment, but there isn’t room right now for you in the class.

NAPS and Foundation prep scholarships are generally offered to those USNA finds not ready for an offer of appointment for this class, though they are free to offer prep to anyone they wish.

My son was offered a spot at a foundation school. He was fully qualified for USNA this year. Almost perfect SAT score, straight A student, with 5 AP classes, fluent in 2 languages, NHS student, captain of 2 hockey teams, and tons of extra curricular activities… I just think there are tons of highly competitive students applying and being from MD district 3, there was just not enough room for all of these kids. He was first waitlisted for USNA, then the foundation offer came the next day. Still don’t really understand, but he is excited as it pretty much insures him a spot for next year, and will give him an extra year to grow physically and mentally.

I was NAPS waitlisted as well! What is the likelihood that those of us who were waitlisted to NAPS are taken off the waitlist and given a chance to attend NAPS?

Exactly why I said USNA is free to offer prep paths to anyone they wish. NAPS and Foundation prep opportunities add flexibility.

Anybody else having portal trouble? Still CPR and now cant even login
We are still CPR too. Ughhh. We aren't having trouble getting in to the system. We did at some point last week though and had to change our password.

Your DS showing some real maturity there in my opinion keeping his eyes forward toward a career in the Navy. Had a close friend's DD, also from MD (don't know the district) last year that went through foundation. She loved it and is now a member of 2026. Best of luck to you and DS.

Anyone else still at CPR? At what point should we inquire to make sure application isn’t missed or portal isn’t broken? 😊
Still CPR here. Checked with BGO to see if he had any updates/info about USNA timeline. He got in touch with them and said they are still working through it.
