How much time does the VMI Regimental Band take out of you're schedule?? How often are practice during a typical week and how often are there marching performances and long distance trips???
Do you have to join the Regimental Band first in order to join other musical bands like the Commander's Jazz Band, Brass Ensemble, Herald Trumpets, etc.? Or can you just audition straight away into the musical band you choose and skip the marching/regimental band?
(I am currently an Intermediate Trumpet Player)

What are some OTHER great extracurricular activities or clubs at VMI right now?? I am interested to know specific details about different clubs VMI has and what particular activities they have to offer. Also, how much time is available at VMI after rats break out of the ratline to pursue clubs and club sports? For those with VMI cadet experience, what is time management like for clubs on top of academics and ROTC?

You won't have a lot of time to do extracurricular during the ratline but there is some. I am not sure of the amount of time and practice that the regimental band has, but it would be quite a bit. It's doable if you are interested talk to someone during matriculation because Band is it's own company.

As far as club sports etc. Running club, rugby, rifle team I think, Glee club, Men in Grey ( Acapella group) the website should have a list of all that is available.
