Is it still possible to get Prep even though a TWE was received?
Short answer is no.
There are two prep routes. TWE at this time of year is usually Qualified Not Selected. If qualified, the candidate cannot go to USMAPS (must be academically disqualified). If the RC wanted that candidate for Civil Prep, they wouldn't have sent them a QNS/TWE.
DD has been made aware that the slated number one appointee has accepted his USMA appointment. Considering she was the second choice appointee, it doesn't look like DD will probably attending USMA. However, no TWE yet. Still miracles happen. Plan B- registration Saturday.
If your RC and FFR aren't asking you about it and you got a disqualified letter, then your file is closed for this year. Once you get some sort of rejection letter for USMA, 999/1000 (everyone except one or two candidates per year) that is the end of the road for any avenue for that year (USMA, USMAPS, or Civil Prep).Question - I received a TWE late in March. It only stated that I was not selected for USMA this year. No mention of USMAPS. I emailed my FFR and he confirmed I was academically disqualified. Any chance of hearing something positive about USMAPS? I'm guessing the answer is "No" but I had to ask. Thanks.
That was my assumption. Thanks for the reality check. If your RC and FFR aren't asking you about it and you got a disqualified letter, then your file is closed for this year. FYI, my DS was just informed via email that his CP offer will be in the mail tomorrow. We never received a TWE or updates online and have just been waiting patiently. Hopefully anyone else who hasn't received the TWE is in the same boat.
Congratulations!!!!!
Still in the game; DD says portal still open and no TWE today. No news is good news.According to my FFR, 58 people applied in her two districts. The top four were accepted. I'm the fifth. Hoping one of them gets a USNA appointment and turns down their USMA appointment, or something like that. Time will tell though.
