Congrats big time. This wins the internet today
Recruiting poster good looks. Thanks to my wife/his mom.@Devil Doc Congrats again to your son Doc. From the part of the pic I can see he looks like one helluva Marine.
Ooh, but when they do…The Few, The Proud…Few Marines wears their dress blues often. Same for their Charlies (except for Pentagon brass).
I agree. I've never gotten to see my son in his Charlies. I keep asking for a pic, to no avail. But the dress blues... ooh, la, la. Dress blues seem to be for weddings and birthday balls only (or pretty much).Ooh, but when they do…The Few, The Proud…
That time it was tough being a sailor on the "Mighty Mo!"
I was in Long Beach when that occurred. You should have seen the PAO’s face pale when Cher came out in her costume. Evidently the Navy - Cher People agreement specified more modest costumes. The sailors’ eyes were hanging out of their sockets; the grind and enthusiasm were real. I was thinking “You ninny, it’s Cher.” I was on the senior staff there at the time. We had USS NEW JERSEY and USS MISSOURI homeported there, so much history on those wooden decks.
That grunt won the class!Over 90 percent of my medical science students say they want to be a physician. The truth however is that fewer than 10 percent will be qualified to apply, let alone be accepted to medical school. But who am I to tell them that? Right. So, I have them research the entry requirements of a health occupation of their choice. Most look up doctor of course and many have it narrowed down by specialty. Here's a part of the worksheet turned in by one of my students today. The answer to number three will make you giddy.
1. Name of your chosen healthcare occupation. Army medic
2. What are the education requirements for the occupation and what are the requirements for entry into that education program? 10 weeks in BCT(Basic Combat Training) and 16 weeks of AIT(Advanced Individual Training).
3. Name three universities where this training takes place. Fort Jackson, Fort Benning, Fort Knox.
