Yes DD got a nomination for USAFA from Toomey. I imagine he is very busy in DC since he was the one pushing to limit the Fed so he broke protocol this year and sent out status by email. It is my understanding that people are also being notified if they didn’t get a nomination. Best of luck to your son.

either the MOC had 2 slates and dhe got noms on both slates or 2 different nom sources

My DD was excited to find an update to her USMA portal showing a nom from VA62, but she has not received any official notification. Anyone know if that is Sen. Kaine or Sen. Warner?
 
Just got a call from the Director of Nominations for Kamala Harris’s office regarding my nomination for USAFA. He said that the interviewers were really impressed and recommended that I be given a nomination. I was ranked highly in the slate.

He said that I would have received a nomination, however when he called my local congressman‘s office to see if they were planning on nominating me, my congressman’s office said that I was practically guaranteed a nomination from there. Because of that, Harris isn’t going to nominate me in order to “share the wealth”. They are preventing double nominating.

It is good news and bad news. I wish that I could get one from Harris, but I also have the peace of mind that knowing my congressman’s office is already interested in me. Interviews for that office haven’t even been scheduled yet. It is suppose to be sometime in the middle of January. I just have to wait, be patient, and continue to prepare myself for the interview and hopefully, in a few months from now, an appointment.

Keep an eye on your portal. Elected officials are given a period of time to inform if they choose, and some call, some don’t. Some send snail mail. Don’t lose hope until you know for sure.

My son hasn’t heard from Toomey or Casey but he’s not expecting a nom from either tbh.

Also trying to figure that out- one thread from 2010 said VA61 was for the "Senior" senator, so maybe Warner is VA61 and Kaine is VA62.

I have not heard back from either senator. But I have friends who have received rejection emails. Are you sure it isn't your MOC?

He said the interviews were hard, and he feels he’s not all that competitive against the whole state, especially for USAFA, which is the school he chose as his #1 for Toomey. He has a very solid resume, good GPA, decent SAT, but so does everyone else. He’s hoping he gets one from our congressman.
I’m cautiously optimistic. He tends to have low expectations so he isn’t disappointed when things don’t work out.
