2028 State Nominations Thread

Hi! Has anyone heard anything back from Sherrod Brown or Max Miller?

Last year, my interview for Sherrod Brown's nomination was conducted on October 22nd. It is currently October 20th and I haven't heard anything.

Max Miller's application notes that interviews will be conducted from October 24th through October 31st.
My DS had his interview with Sherrod Browns team this past weekend. He has one with J. D. Vance's team this upcoming weekend. We have not heard anything from Max Miller but I'm hoping since his due date was later than the senators they may not have started scheduling the appointments yet.

Here is what I was talking about for Max Miller. He extended the deadline to Nov 1 so they probably haven't started interviews yet.

And for general readership, elected officials can conduct their evaluation and selection process any way they wish - deadlines, application info, etc. Some do interviews. Some do not.

Did they say how many they chose for interviews? We've heard Scott chooses from the entire state as 1 group and Rubio selects a few from each area, but not sure if thats true. DS was scheduled 4th to be interviewed on Saturday. Only 1 of the 3 before him showed up. The candidates were supposed to check in 20 minute prior to their 10 minute slot. No one was there waiting wen he finished either. I'm clueless on why there would be ANY no shows, but 3 out of 5? Good luck tomorrow!
They did not say how many they chose for interviews. They did say that this year there has been a large amount of applicants compared to previous years.

Thanks for the info and good luck this time around too! Yes, it was nice to get that letter confirming his packet was turned in and complete. Still waiting to get confirmation from Duckworth and his congressman.
i recently got confirmation from Duckworth after I resubmitted a letter of rec. !

I believe she was sworn in yesterday. My guess is, given everything going on in DC right now, she will probably roll with the systems in place re: noms
Sen Feinstein applications have been closed/discontinued as per senate rules.

Sen Butler not nominating anyone this year.

Above info confirmed by staff of our local MOC.

So for CA noms, most will have only Sen Padilla and your local MOC, plus VP. (if you have service connected and ROTC that too). Best of luck to everyone applying.

Tennessee

Has anyone heard anything from Sens Blackburn or Hagerty about interviews with the selection board?

I am surprised his statement states juniors and seniors can apply. Are juniors applying to lock in a nomination for next year? I haven’t heard of this before.

Could a junior be old enough and graduate after 11th grade?

Say a state gets redistricted, a congressman who was previously 1 gets moved to 2. Does the nomination follow the congressman or the district (would it be charged to Congressman X or charged to District #)?

DS received a letter from Max Miller letting him know that he was selected for an interview and was to call and set that up with Max Millers office. I thought it was a little odd that the interview request came via snail mail you'd think you could send that in an email.
