BOLC dates?

I haven't heard anything from 8th BDE. I'm still unsure if its by BDE or branch. Two people branched FA in my class and they haven't received anything on enterprise.

Son is 8th BDE as well, he branched Aviation and has not heard any news as of yet, and there's only 133 of them.

At least he'll have a couple weeks to unwind before he heads out again. Is June 12th his report date or activation date?

He seems to be maintaining radio silence at the moment. I will asked Cadet Clueless tomorrow for more info, thanks.

Hasn't been much info on the Aviation side of things. Have heard some horror stories of cadets branched Aviation last year that are still waiting to start BOLC and Flight School.

Thanks very much for your offer, you may regret it later on. DS is looking forward to Fort Sill and all it entails.

Haha, anything and everything you need. It helps having a source of info for questions or concerns, especially when just getting started.

Lawton, OK is quite an experience.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's such a shame waiting all that time, hopefully the class of 2015 will be swift and sweet.

Personally, I would see such a gap as having an advantage: getting a part time (or even a full time) job, getting your finances (student loans, buying a car) in order, making sure you have everything you need to be prepared for 2LT life (securing a lease, etc) possibly very far away from home, etc; essentially "getting your life straightened out" so that BOLC and real Lieutenant life is a little easier and more managed since you're not juggling all elements of adulthood at once. Not to mention enjoying your last summer vacation ever.

Jcleppe makes a good point. For IBOLC at Ft. Benning, the reporting date last year was about ten days earlier than the published class starting date.

Received my dates for IBOLC. My report date is 9 AUG. I didn't find out through my enterprise but through AKO.

1) login to AKO

2) Click on self-service near the top

3) Find my training and click on that

4) Scroll all the way down to the bottom to "ATRRS User Tools"

5) Click on " View your ATRRS Training Record"

6) If there is a line item there, click the blue expand arrow to show your dates.

That will usually be true for those who are Active Duty and PCS to BOLC (IN, AR, FA, AV, maybe missing a couple). The BOLC's that are TDY or the previous ones where the LT is Guard (thus on TDY) will usually have them arriving the day prior to the course starting. You get the 10 days of Permissive TDY when you PCS (sometimes known as "house hunting"), but for the PCS BOLC's you'll really just inprocess before the others and Snowbird for a few days.

DS got his dates for IBOLC - May 17th!! So basically he has 8 days from graduation. Going to be a short summer!

Hanging around a while sounded good at first but last I spoke to DS he was ready to get with it vs part time job, rent, utilities, car payment, insurance, etc. No guard pay since commissioned AD. Perhaps more down down to spend more money or trouble find you or get you derailed??? By your profile I would think you are in Charlie town would you go home or stay there? Have you checked rent in Charlie town and a year lease? Just saying..... But I could see some may want some chill time.

Getting your life straighten out for 2nd Lt life?????...... I would think you better be well on your way of having this done by Commissioning time. Army will probably juggle your adulthood time for you :) I guess different strokes for different folks but I think DS is ready to face the new opportunities in front of him......
