Hello all, this is my first post after reading a few posts and wanted to reach out for advice from people who actually know what they are talking about. I am a junior in highschool and recently had a come to Jesus moment about what I wanted to do with my life, and the first step along that path is to attend USMMA but I feel like my past will prevent this from happening. my current weighted GPA is a 3.2 from the last years, this is due to lack of motivation and failure to turn in my assignments, since finding a purpose my grades have widely improved (3.85 so far this semester) and have been practicing SATs (most recent 1200) but I am unsure this is good enough academically. I also go to a STEM school that does not treat Trigonometry and instead algebra 2 and Pre Calculus. Finally my extra ciricullars may as well be a huge black mark because I have only recently joined English UIL and the Civil Air Patrol. I will be founding my highschools soccer team however and aim to become captain (I am well liked by the players and am comfortable leading). Another slight boost to this is the fact that I was part of a leadership program in 8th grade but am unsure if this matters. What I wanted to finally ask is: Do I actually have any kind of chance to be accepted?
(I am aware of requirements to join)

Yes you definitely have a chance. You are doing all the right things, and you have the drive. Also, many do a year in college first. So if you don't get in the first time, reapply.

Your GPA is already improving significantly and your SAT looks good to me (although if possible I would try to shoot for the 1300s). One thing I would recommend is to definitely try to get some college-level physics or calculus classes under your belt. These are the two classes that give plebes the most amount of headaches. It will greatly relieve some future stress if you at least get some experience in that realm. I would recommend trying to do some community college classes or an online program.
