I revived an initial DQ from dodmerb for having ADHD and have some remedials. However these remedials don’t seem like they would help them decide in my favor right now they are are just my transcripts and High school IEP. This is my second year (AS200) in Afrotc and I want to make sure to do this right.

To give some more details I was diagnosed with ADHD in middle school and took medication but I wasn’t on an IEP. When I started high school I was put on an IEP that gave me extra time on tests and continued somewhat sporadically taking medication. My last semester of High school I did not use my IEP. I have been off medications for the past two years of college and do not have an IEP plan on file or used one.

A couple questions: 1) What are my chances at a waiver? 2) Can I submit personal statements and other doctors notes even though they have only asked for my transcripts? 3) What does the process look like after I submit all the paperwork they want?

TLDR (Was on an IEP and took meds for ADHD in High school. Off meds for 2 years this summer. What are my chances of getting a waiver for my DQ?)

Anything you can produce from a provider that is a current evaluation of your ADHD diagnosis and that you do not require medication, can be sent to DoDMERB. The healthcare provider documentation carried the most weight.

Please keep us (*ahem*, me) posted. About to go through this with my DD. While not exactly same timeline (tried meds for about a month one year ago) and had a 504 plan (that she fought and never used) that we just dissolved… best of luck!
