Effect of Letters from Coaches

I was wondering if anyone could speak to the impact that letters from coaches and other faculty have in the waiver process. I was just DQ'd for asthma past the 13th birthday and started the waiver process for Army ROTC. I have been very active in several sports, (especially endurance sports) throughout high school, been off asthma meds for years, and I just ran a marathon. I have seen people post on here about submitting letters from coaches to help with the case for an asthma waiver. In the stuff I have seen/received from DODMERB they indicate that it has little impact. I was curious, is it still beneficial to submit positive letters of recommendation like that? I also have letters from doctors about my asthma not being an issue, as I understand that actually carries at least some weight for DODMERB.

Thank you for your time

Non-medical letters? No. Unless specifically requested by DoDMERB in very rare cases, letters from anyone are meaningless: Physicians, coaches, etc. Medical records are the gold standard. DoDMERB does not need/desire letters of recommendation.:wiggle:

What about results/times from races/meets? Are those considered in reference to asthma waivers?
