Exchange student at academy

I know people at academies can stay at another academy for a semester. Do ROTC cadets have an option to stay at an academy? If not, what opportunities are there to work with SA cadets/on SA campus?

The only ones that really come to mind are doing CFT your rising junior summer (as a ROTC cadet) or doing Sandhurst. Beyond that, I don’t really remember doing much with ROTC cadets on campus

ROTC cadets and midshipmen have their own college academic year and summer training programs. During the summer, I know USNA and NROTC mids are together on some training cruises and evolutions. I would assume similar happens with other services.

As far as opportunities to work with SA cadets on SA campus, I am not aware of any at USNA, don’t know about others. I am sure a current mid or recent grad can speak to any NROTC presence at USNA. Only a handful get to do the exchange semester at another SA, in any event.

AFROTC cadets can get the opportunity to do an exchange semester at USAFA. I believe there is only 4-5 slots per year.

My son's AFRotc detachment had an Air Force Academy cadet do an exchange at Purdue. Cant remember if a Purdue AFROTC cadet went to the academy, but they do definitely do academy to university. He enjoyed himself that semester
