Humor for my Navy and Marine friends

Yep!

The context in the picture is created with the Corporal sitting next to the PFC with a total of 5 ribbons.

I can't make out the PFC's ribbons but it appears the senior award is a purple heart (multiple awards as noted by the silver star in the center).

The ribbons also look like GWI era. They fade when I make the picture bigger. I'm pretty sure I see a good conduct ribbon so the theory of him being busted has merit. Luis Fonseca was awarded the Navy Cross from action when he was an E-2.

Okay, it's not "service" related but...it's funny!

So imagine this...you're female, you order your sub sandwich, you pick it up at the window...then you pull over and take it out...ready to enjoy.

And you see THIS written on it!!! OMG!!!

Bltch sandwich.jpg

SO you go back, park, and then find the manager. He comes over, nice and friendly, and asks if he can help you? You toss this sandwich down and ask "WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS?!!!!" And he seems confused and says..."what about it?"

"I was insulted by your employee!!!"

The manager is now clearly confused so he says..." Well ma'am, I'm sorry...you didn't order a BLT with cheese? I'll be happy to get you what you wanted!"

Now...how do you back out of that???

***I saw this posted elsewhere...

This is a bald-faced lie, a vile piece of slander!!!! The moderators need to hold an inquisition to determine the guilty parties and administer swift, merciless justice!!!

We air force types would NEVER stay at a Holiday Inn....I mean...

We have standards and a reputation to protect!

My third ship was a replenishment oiler which I'm about to put up a meme about. Not my ship but one of similar mission. The USS Savannah AOR-4, had a command master chief while I was there who had been aboard for about eight years. He looked like the old man of the sea with a face like a worn out catcher's mitt. He was a great man though and I made Sailor of the Year under his tutelage, number one PO1, and then made HMC. He was a boatswains mate by trade and as the CMC of course didn't have to do UNREPs at all hours of the night. Unless he wanted to and he always did what he wanted. After transferring I would think of him often because of his influence on my life and career, and then all of a sudden a few months ago he pops up on my FB page. We are on a couple supply ship sites and found each other there. Truly and embarrassingly but thankfully, I was surprised he was still alive. He was an UNREPing and seamanship legend who was standing at the pier with sea bag and orders in hand waiting for the water to show up. That's how salty this sailor is. He would sit on BABs on the main deck waiting to be transferred to the bird farm. What's a BAB one might ask? Big azz bomb. He looked like a cowboy with a white float coat waiting for the gait to open. He also smoked wherever and whenever he wanted which is why I was surprised he was still among the living. "The smoking lamp is out" is for sure a safety thing that is much needed and usually enforced, but telling this old salt he can't smoke while sitting on a bomb is as useless as ....fill in whatever comes to mind.

This is the USS Arctic who I help bring in to MSC from Big Navy. In earlier years I was on a replenishment oiler and it was a great time and experience. I "get it" when mariners want to spend a life at sea. I did as well. I miss it still today.
