My CFA scores turned green into "On File and passed" and my DodMERB also became "Qualified" on the 24th of last month. I have also secured my nomination from the local US embassy. It's definetely not a guarantee, but it's a sign of good things to come, right?

It is safe to say it is not a bad sign. Good luck to you!

From the embassy?? Seems you are an international candidate, am I right?

If you are an international candidate coming in via the U.S. agreements with Dept of Defense and Dept of State for cadets from other countries to earn their degree at USMA but commission into their own country’s service or other obligation, your criteria for an appointment are different in many aspects. US Embassy approval is a good thing. CFA pass and DoDMERB medical clearance are good things. I assume there are other academic performance and English fluency requirements. Some of the things you read about on this forum don’t apply to your application process.

I am sure everyone here wishes you the best of luck in obtaining a place at USMA. What a great opportunity! If you haven’t visited the U.S. before or extensively, you have all kinds of adventures ahead, including culinary. Please let us know if you receive an appointment.

Assuming the best outcome, please sign up to travel to any sports events at USNA, USAFA, USMMA or USCGA. They are all special in their own way and worth visiting.

And Rocky Mountain Oysters are not oysters.

I took the TOEFL tests last August and passed with a 100, as well as getting a 1370 in my SATs. Not the best score, I admit, but with the USD inflation rates in my country, I think it's good.
The first thing I want to do when I get to the states is to get a burger. A real, cooked burger. Not one of those weird slimes you get out of McD's and BK, like actual smashed ones. I will take every opportunity I can to see as much of the United States as much as I can with my limited time, and learn as much as I can to become a great officer.
Thank you to everyone for your support!

If bacon is on your American bucket list, I hope you have been reading the Bacon thread that starts here, in the Off-Topic Forum:

Thread 'Important matters concerning the existence of Humanity - BACON'

Bacon goes nicely on hamburgers, if you care to eat it.

Nice call on the Rocky Mountain Oysters! I would add if ever in the South or Appalachia “White Lightning“ is not the color of a thunderbolt during a rainstorm & “Moonshine” has nothing to due with the current moon phase.😉

One of our USNA sponsor family daughters was a Peruvian international midshipman. Superb English. She said her biggest challenge was taking American slang literally or figuring out what the words actually were if they were intentionally mispronounced. “Whassup?” stumped her at first. “What’s up?” didn’t help much.

I know a little bit about the prohibition era history, thanks to Sergio Leone 🤫
