I am still waiting to hear back. Don't loose hope! It's pretty intimidating as you see slots are filling up but I have seen plenty of Airmen get accepted in late April.

I know! Seeing all the good news posted here makes me really anxious but you're right. It's not over til I physically see it in the portal that it is

I am still waiting to hear as well and it kind of a drag. The good news, however, is that there are some events that are set in stone this month that I look forward to such as my birthday and the new marvel movie coming out. This helps me keep my mind at ease.

So you don't "separate" until you go to the actual academy.

Going to the prep-school is actually a PCS. So you should get PCS orders Colorado springs pretty soon. The name of the base is actually "united states air force academy" so yeah.... if you got accepted to the prep I recommend heckling your MPS ASAP. We all know the horror stories of how orders/outprocessing checklists can go. So get on that as soon as possible.

I was lucky and got my official orders within a week of being notified. It helped a lot with outprocessing.

When should we expect to get our orders? I was thinking early May or Late April.
 
This is a note for anyone who happens to be watching down here. If you get accepted to the prep, make sure to HAVE LEAVE SAVED UP.

During your 10 month stay at the prep, you'll accrue 25 days of leave. However, that leave is already budgeted out for the various school breaks you'll have. But when you graduate the prep in May, you'll technically be "separated". This means that if you want to be paid between graduation and BCT at the actual academy, you'll need to have about 37 days saved before coming here.

That being said, make sure you don't have more than 37 days either or you'll lose it.

But with that ALSO being said, you do have the option to work details at the prep-school for that month long period (or go on RAP), so there's other ways to get paid to.

I figured I'd let ya'll know about that. Some of you care about money more than others. In my case, I'm 22 so I don't really "need" to see my family this break or whatever. I'd rather make another 2000 bucks and save up.

That depends on so many more factors then I can answer honestly. I wasn't an MPS troop so I don't know exactly how their system works or whatever. All I can say is that I got my acceptance on the 17th, and I got my orders about a week later. I don't know if it helped, but I personally walked into the MPS and (politely) asked them when I could expect them ect... Then continued to walk in and check a couple more times to remind them. I don't know if that helped at all, but I did get my orders pretty quick.

When was your departure date? How much time did you have in between your departure date and RNLT date? Apologies for all the questions. I've never went through the PCS process before.
 
So do you only get put on new orders then if you're headed to the Prep school?

And if its a direct appointment....its just a seperation, right? No new orders?
 
FOR ALL WHO HAVE BEEN APPOINTED

Just got off the phone with Cadet personnel at USAFA, they are waiting to recieve a list of all the prior enlisted who accepted an appointment to either USAFA or the prep school from Admissions then they will send that list to AFPC so we can recieve either PCS or Separation orders depending on if you are direct admission or prep school. They mentioned that it could come down to less than a month from I-day and to call back next week for an update. I will continue to post updates based on what they tell me.

I called over as well last week but they told me they had no updates on the process and will get back with me later (they never got back with me).
I feel for the prior directs as you guys have way less time than the priors going to the prep school.

Well a lot of people are still waiting to hear back about being accepted or denied. Maybe they should speed that up first lol. Only one person overseas has heard anything, and that was yesterday.

Congrats! Now we know the Prep School appointments are starting to come in. Did they call you? Or come up to you in person?
