Top Gun 2 filming now-release date next July!!

My rumor mill has it that SecNav and several Admirals were at the premiere in San Diego last night.
 
They are probably still laughing.
 
Wondering if any current Mid parents have heard the rumors that there could be an advance showing at yard next Thursday? Mine told me there's a mysterious "unmarked" 5-hour block in Alumni Hall for an unknown event and that many Mids are speculating that this could be for the new movie.
 
Mine along with many others (based on the speakerphone feedback) loved it.
So much so that my aviation seeking DS is concerned this will increase requests for Pilot (Made me laugh). He said it was great. Couldn’t have been better.
Granted they took with a grain of salt the military and reality components.
My Aero DS was ‘needing out’.

I will rate the film 5 Great Balls of Fire out of 5! We were all on the edge of our seats the whole time. The characters are all incredible to watch. The actors do a great job of portraying both the competitiveness and camaraderie that the community is famous for. Got us plenty hyped to head down to Pensacola this summer.
 
Roger Ebert review. Nice.

I look forward to seeing it on biggest screen I can find with serious speakers. No doubt DH and DBIL, both early Top Gun grads, will be mumbling BS under their breath but will grin ear to ear just like they did for the first one.

I may even got for the IMAX version, if there is one.

Same review from our son. Even a late night text about it, which is not normal. No pics allowed…too secret stuff.

I told DH ‘watch him request navy pilot’. Will be interesting to see if there is a surge next year!

I wish I could go with all the pilots I went with the first time. The laughter was often, and glorious. ;)
 
DS was not able to see the show as he got "second choice" and it conflicted with another event. Oh well I am sure he will find time between commissioning and PROTRAMID to see it.

Can't wait to see it but...will take OFF my pilot hat...
(or I'm sure there'll be a LOT of "oh for pete's..." and "...really? REALLY?)
