AFROTC 2015 Enrollment Allocations

Getting flight hours is the the same advice I keep getting from the POC who have pilot slots, so I'll definitely be doing some flying this summer. Looks like I'll have to get a part-time summer job though to pay for it, but it'll be worth it!

I only was able to afford 11 flight hours before rated boards back in 2014, but it helped my PCSM significantly. Keep in mind you don't get extra PCSM per flight hour, it goes by blocks. For example, 0-10 flight hours = 5 points, 11-20 = 10 points, ect... Those point values are made up but you should get the idea. Once you have access to the PCSM website, use that for guidance.

Thanks for clarifying the specifics!

Congrats to everyone that got an EA this year! And thank you to everyone who shared their stats; I am about separate from Active Duty to go into ROTC and have been stressing over what I need to do to get an EA and you guys gave me some great info!

Keep in mind that this year was a great one for selection rates. The process is very cyclical and there are years in the 50-60% rate. That means that the stats are more competitive also.

Oh for sure; my wife's board was the first board that they did the major cuts, so I can appreciate it changes. Just hoping it takes more than a year to get worse :)

still no word from DS on EA's. The DET is holding out on them.
Waiting for cross-town cadets to be on campus ? who knows anymore

Are you active duty Air Force? I was prior e in active duty and served five years. If you use all of the knowledge you have to your advantage, you will easily get an ea. I honestly was not worried about getting an ea despite being a 250. Just swallow your pride and play the AFROTC game!!! It'll be worth it in the end.

Exactly! I can understand how former enlisted must feel. Just play the game.

I am separating after six years from AD duty enlisted Air Force to attend AFROTC. I will be entering the two year AFROTC Det. At Troy University. I'm not exactly sure how EAs are going to work in a two year Det. From what I have researched there are only two Dets like this in the whole country Troy and Chareston Southern. I am well aware that AD enlisted to AFROTC will be a drastic change of pace but the end result will be well worth it.

Wow! A 2 year program? I'm curious as well to see how thats going to work out. 1 year as a GMC and 1 as a POC? Doesn't seem very effective for high school students without any military background trying to earn a commission. Shoot, there are 4 year cadets in my det who are about to commission who I don't think are ready. A 2 year program sounds like the next best thing after OTS.

I'm sure that you have to spend 2 years as a POC to commission. I know that former enlisted can skip AS100 classes but I don't know that they can go on active duty with only 2 years in AFROTC. I know that in the past you used to be able to do a 2 year program but I thought they had changed that. I'd like to get some more info on this.

EA's and contracts are nation wide not by det, you might wana check that info. If you can do a 2 year, everyone can with the same credentials at any detachment. And as prior you have to spend 2 years as a POC, same as everyone else.

I know we have a cadet who spent 1 year as a GMC, and 1.5 as a POC. They're prior-enlisted and on some special program from the Air Force that I don't know too much about though, so I couldn't offer any more insight into that.

Would anybody happen to know when we are suppose to find out what Max we get?
In the past it was a few weeks after EA were released. Our EAs came out on time so lets hope our MAX dates do as well.

Most likely SOAR or ASCP

IF everything is still true, you only have to be a POC 1.5 semesters.

The OP may have to do one more semester to fulfill the 1.5, but would still commission before 3 years, and depending on the school he may be able to commission in 2 years...some schools are on trimesters, some schools accept summer as a semester.

In the end, if you look at AFROTC POC it is 1.5 semesters.

Thanks for the reply Pima. Learned something new! I pushed my 4 yr degree back to 5 yrs because I joined late. I may have too look into graduating fall semester of my AS400 year.

Not sure where your getting 1.5 from, 4.25.1.2. Cadets must complete the full two years in the POC. Requests to commission early (less than two years in the POC) require HQ AFROTC/RRFP approval and will be granted only in exceptional cases. To my knowledge they completely did away with early commissioning, about 2 years ago. But if said cadet did get a less than 2 year acceptance then good for him, got lucky.
