Grilled cheddar and jalapeño popper sammich
cream cheese ( I personally like fat free cream cheese, but use whatever you like)
jalapeño or green chilies finely chopped (remove the seeds to reduce heat, if you like)
ground cumin (sprinkle to taste)
garlic peeled and crushed (or the minced stuff in the jar)
real butter
sourdough or rye bread
good cheddar cheese coarsely grated (cheddar cheese is not yellow, by the way. Get some good cheddar!)
crispy cooked bacon
freshly ground/cracked black pepper
Mix the cream cheese, chilies, cumin, and garlic. Spread on one or both slices (depending on how many calories you want) and grind some black pepper on top. Put grated cheddar on top, and add at least two slices of bacon. Butter the outside of your "sammich", and cook in your favorite skillet, until it's crispy.
