Re-applicants who got in, what do you think that made you get in the 2nd/3rd/4th... time?

I have been going over my application last year, trying to assess myself. I was found "fully qualified", but didn't get in. I asked myself, was it either the test, the essays, or the fitness test? Or even all of them?

It doesn't help the fact that I am international, so I am assuming that the process is even more competitive because we are competing for a spot of 15 each year.

What did you do around the 2nd/3rd/4th try that made you a great applicant?

Thank you for your feedback.

Did you assess your leadership?

What do you mean you are competing for a spot of 15?

Were your numbers good, but your competition just edged you out for the slots available?

And would your next application face the same issue? What have you done to improve leadership, academics, fitness etc?

See:

USMA notes it allows 60 international cadets to be part of the Corps of Cadets. Divided by 4…

For @sapper5446 , since you were found fully qualified, I recommend contacting whoever handles international cadet applications at USMA and ask for direct feedback on where you could more competitive. There just wasn’t room for you in the international cohort for this class. Good luck!

Ahhh got it. I read this as an American student, living abroad.

I put down my experience as a class lresident, club founder and squad commander back when I was a conscript.

Right now, I am leading a group of my fellow interns in an organization funded by the US Department of State.

People have told me that could've been the case but we just might not know for certain. The rejection letter implied that it could've been a numbers thing, a high amount of qualified candidates.
