She’s better off than applicants who have 1 or none. Presumably, she has applied for VP as well.
She will compete in the Presidential “nom bucket.” 100 appointments in the class can be charged to this nom source. Her competition will be all other fully qualified applicants who have the Presidential nom, which is simple eligibility. There could be several hundred with the Presidential nom; no way to know, so spend no time on it.
JROTC/ROTC “nom bucket”: 20 appointments per class can be charged to this nom source. Similar to Presidential, no way to know how many fully qualified applicants have this nom.
VP: My impression is these are carefully managed by the SA (no actual VP staff involvement) to use for someone they want but who has no nom or missed the cut for another nom.
If she’s put her best application in and is tending her alternate plans, that’s all she can do at this point. Many are appointed with no Sen/Rep nom.
