I wasn't wondering when notifications would be made; but whether not having recommendations would affect me negatively.

Your question about your AIM application is really, at this point, nothing you can change. The AIM acceptances will be available on Monday, May 2. There were over 1800 applicants for about 500 slots. Some of those that are not invited to AIM may be offered the opportunity to attend the Cadet for a Day program. In addition, there are other opportunities to attend tours and briefings at CGA if you are in the area.

Now, what can you do moving forward...be proactive. When the application for the Class of 2021 opens, you will again have recommendations, essays, test scores, etc., to provide. Many CGA appointees were not selected for AIM, or were not even aware of the program. From here on out, you should look forward. You goal now, no matter the outcome of AIM selections, is to prepare to submit the best possible application for the Class of 2021. Focus now on what will lead to being a part of the next class, and that is the application process.

I assume as one recommendation was requested and another is optional. Who ever it is to late to add one as the portal is closed. If I am incorrect please respond.

I thought up to 700 attend AIM eash year.

CGA only has rack space for around 500 AIMsters. Remember, AIM also happens during the time that the Class of 2020 will be going through swab summer, and CGAS will be receiving their training before heading off to prep school. July is a very busy month at CGA.

No. I am an Admissions Partner, a volunteer working for Admissions, as is Grevar. My son is in the Class of 2017. LT McIntyre-Coble is an Admissions Officer, which is a commissioned USCG officer.
Sorry, I missed Alaska66 as an Admissions Partner, too.

Thanks. Is the 500 spread among 50 states. So about 10 per state?

Do we really need so finely tuned a notification schedule? Haha! Only 10 years ago you just had to wait for a letter in the mail or a phone call (or it closer to 15 years ago).
