I'm an incoming MIDN who is curious about how much I can expect my cadence pushup count, plank time, and 1.5 mile time to improve over PS (comparing the IPRT in to the PRT administered at the end of PS).

If you have not done already, go to YouTube and listen to the 2-second cadence push up. My DS '26 can max the normal push-up test; the 2-second push-up is a different animal. Practice on it to max.

It really depends on where you are now and how hard you push yourself. Everyone improved, some by a little while others by a lot. I added 10 push ups, 35 seconds to max plank, and cut the run by 1:14

That’s an unanswerable question. Depends on where you start, what you put into it, your physical capabilities and limitations, etc. some improve a lot, some improve a little — even while putting in the same work. Do all the right things: work out, eat well, hydrate, sleep well. That’s all you can do.

And stuff happens. Injuries. Illness. Etc.

My son was a track star. He didn’t do his personal best, bc he helped his shipmates do THEIR personal best.

Take these last two weeks to spend time with your family and friends. You don’t get a do-over.

The first one will be early in the summer, and if you are a faster runner, you will want to be sure to get out of the crowd as it is easy to get bunched up and stuck running slower as a result. My kid had a huge improvement from early on to the final Fall one because of that. He got to run with just his company for the final PRT, and that allowed him to actually stretch out and run better. (Aside - one of his company-mates is on the XC/Track team .... he ran somewhere in the 7:2X range for the PRT. Yeah, for a mile and a half time, no kidding ......).

@bgreat … I don’t see you on the Class of 27 self updated appointments list …. Did your parents add you to the list under another name? If your dream is to be a MIDN, it’s ok to say that too …

I heard about the appointments list, but I don't know where to find that. I am going to be a part of the class of 2027 starting this summer.
