Like so many things, that depends. Is an interview for a congressional nomination a good sign, or is it typically the first step for those seeking a nomination?
I received an email from my Congressman Office, asking for an interview on Oct. 30, at 9:00 AM
That's interesting, I wish it was the same for each state, would've made the process easier. Anyway, I submitted my packet last-week.. I don't know anything about how competitive IN-08 is.Like so many things, that depends.
Here in my district, the MOC got approx 75 applications for SA noms last year and we interviewed ALL of them so getting an appointment to an interview here is an indication that you asked for it. Our Senators got well over 300 applications last year and as in the case of my MOC, all were interviewed. Neither this MOC nor the Senators do a "Quality Cut" first so we interview people who are obviously competitive as well as people who are much less likely to gain an appointment.
From reading about other states, it is clear that there are other places that do in fact do a "first cut" before scheduling interviews and many applicants do not get an interview.
If Feinstein's office follows as in years past, those selected for an interview will get an email 2nd or 3rd week in November or there abouts. The interviews are usually the first or second week(end) of December if it follows as previous years have done. Those that receive nominations usually find out just before Christmas by phone or postal mail. Those not receiving nominations usually get a letter sometime after that into January. Those that did not receive an interview usually hear nothing. Again, that is how it has worked in years past.Did anyone who applied for Senator Feinstein get any information about an interview yet?

Do you recall, for this timeline, if her deadline for submission was September 30, or later? If Feinstein's office follows as in years past, those selected for an interview will get an email 2nd or 3rd week in November or there abouts. It was early October, I think the 1st. The other Senator had a later deadline of end of October.Do you recall, for this timeline, if her deadline for submission was September 30, or later?
Thank you for this heads up. I appreciate it. I wish I could delete this thread in order to prevent confusion. As a heads up, generally you do not create a new post for any specific MOC, Senator, etc. You should post your question here instead:

Try emailing his committee with your question/concern - Should you have any questions, please feel free to email us at serviceacademies@padilla.senate.gov.Does anyone have any updates concerning the Senator Padilla application? I have completed everything, but I am unable to submit it because my questionnaire is still marked incomplete even though I submitted it months ago. It says that the questionnaire still needs to be verified by his office and will be marked complete afterward. I tried reaching out to his office about a week ago through email to follow up, but I have not heard back. Is anyone else experiencing this as well? I do not want to email again because I do not want to bug them, but I am getting a little worried since the application closes on November 1st. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
My DD also sent in her application and it hasn’t been checked off either. Hopefully it gets taken care of by the 1stDoes anyone have any updates concerning the Senator Padilla application?
