Has anyone from Georgia heard back/got an interview from Senator Ossoff? Interviews were supposed to be yesterday but apparently, nobody that I talked to has gotten invited to an interview. Does anyone know what happened with that (if they didn't interview folks who already have noms, pushed it back again, etc.)?
Still waiting on Senator Ossoff. Have you heard from his office yet?

Senator 82 was Blackburn, I just received the letter a little later. I was sent a rejection letter from Hagerty's office unfortunately.
I was also nominated by my congressman, and got a call yesterday from him that I was appointed to West Point! Just waiting on it to update in my portal!
Can you confirm appointment vs. nomination please. I am surprised a congressman would be the one to advise of appointment status. Maybe I’m wrong, but unless you have an LOA, I didn‘t think an MOC would have this info, especially this early in the proces.

Usually the academy gives the congressman/congresswoman time to notify the applicant of their appointment to the specific academy. This is usually a call. Not all MOCs notify their applicants that they received an appointment. Sometimes it just pops up on your portal.

A nomination from a senator or MOC is completely different than an appointment. My MOC sent me a letter saying that they nominated me to xyz academies. Your portal should update saying if you have a nom and from who.

You'll know if you get an appointment :)

In addition to @ParachutePanda ‘s accurate post below, if an elected official has gotten their slate in early, as in last fall, and the SA has made its decision to offer an appointment, there will be calls/letters from those elected officials who choose to do so, because they are given that window of time before the SA updates portals and launches notifications.

It’s no longer “early in the process.” Last of the nom slates are due by end of month, college re-applicants are being offered appointments as first semester grades are reported, slates submitted early are being resolved as applications are finalized - the cycle is well under way, poised to deliver spurts of appointments in the coming days and weeks. I suspect most candidates have the parts of the application they control submitted by this point. There is still plenty of time in the cycle, but it’s no longer early.

This is the last correspondence I got from his Office. This is what it said,

"I wanted to circle here to provide an update; for those who are selected to interview with our office, you should receive an invite to interview by next week Thursday at the absolute latest. Interviews slots will be available between 9:30am and 5:30pm on Saturday, January 15th."

However, I have not heard of anyone interviewing that day. Nobody that I talked to has gotten any sort of interview with his office.

I got the same message then as well, with no response since. However, yesterday I got the GA-Senator 82 nomination for USAFA, but Im guessing this is Reverend Warnock’s

When did you receive the letter from Hagerty? Congrats on WP.

Odd. Ossoff is really pushing the timetable as nominations are due to the academies January 31st. And yes, Warnock would be GA-82 being the junior senator

TY as always for your feedback, so in this case was a candidate made aware of a nomination in the fall, and then when the academy awards an appointment the MOC is made aware and given the opportunity given the good news? I'm assuming the nom and the appointment aren't simultaneous (except if an LOA is in place in which the only outstanding item is the nom), and the MOC isn't waiting to give the nom news, but maybe they are.

Let’s sort it all out.

MOCs can conduct their nom application, screening, selection, informing processes any way they like, including not participating in the nominations at all. The can choose to notify a candidate in some manner. Or not - and the candidate finds out when a nom posts to the portal.

The SA decides to offer an appointment. As a courtesy, they inform the MOC, who may choose whether or not to inform the candidate. Again, the candidate could simply yelp in delight when they see an appointment offer in their portal, not having been notified by MOC.

Don’t assume anything about the LOA. One could be given in October, the candidate might fulfill all conditions in January, and not receive an offer until March.

Congratulations!!! That's super!!! I asked, because my DS's portal is showing TN61 as well as his congressional district. He too, received a nomination letter from Senator Blackburn, so he assumed 61 was Senator Blackburn. No letter from Senator Hagerty yet. All the best, and thank you for your reply. :)

The call was very clear and ended with "Go serve your country!" I asked around to some friends who had applied to SAs and no one else received a call from him. So technically, until I have a letter in hand, I won't know officially but it seems pretty clear.

Of course! Congrats on the nom from Blackburn 😄

New Yorkers who received Noms, has anyone had their SA portal checked off and/or gone green yet?
Hello! My DS received his nom from our Congressman: they sent a letter and then it showed up in the portal w/ green check about a week later.
Then DS checked his portal randomly last week and his USAFA appointment letter was there! No call from MOC or email from USAFA alerting him to check his portal. Sometimes the paths are different....good luck as this all unfolds!

Is the Hagerty nom showing on the USAFA portal yet?
