Good morning everyone! So I was contacted earlier this week about receiving a principle nomination from one of my Senators to the United States Military Academy, and yesterday I was contacted by their office that they were submitting the nomination to West Point as we spoke. The staffer thought the Nomination would be reflected on my portal by last night, and when I checked this morning, it was not there. How long do you guys think that is going to take to get imputed? Maybe next week?

I saw a alert notice on USMA portal last night about some regular maintenance Dec 23. Maybe that's why the portal is not showing any update. Give it a few days.
Happy holiday

Relax until after the first of the year. It's not going anywhere.

I don't think you want a nomination "imputed" anyway. (Sorry - couldn't resist the dig). Congrats and enjoy your time with family and friends - and run.

My DS received one last week that hasn't shown up as well. Give it time. Congrats on the accomplishment!
DS in the same boat. The nerves come bc the nomination is reflected in the USNA portal but not the USMA portal. The only time this cycle that the USNA portal was first for anything

The USNA portal makes me cry.... I have to keep emailing the admissions office to ask about items etc....

I've been answering emails by the dozens from folks that have been DoDMERB qualified, but it's not reflected on their Admissions portals yet. Workload; pandemic; telework; holiday schedules definitely contribute to that. If you KNOW you have a nom...enjoy your holidays...if not update by close of business on 4 Jan...then contact your Admissions folks on 5 Jan.

Specifically, the USNA had a major transition in their IT structure this year that has been more challenging than expected. So while it's coming around now, "PATIENCE" is the watchword. :wiggle:

How does one know, or see, on their USMA Candidate Portal application overview page that a Nomination has been received by the academy?

On the very bottom of the Overview tab, if you have a nomination, it will say “Nomination Received” and give the nomination source. (I think it’s right under the DoDMERB section.) It will also show up on the Nomination Tab.

Has anyone on this thread had their nomination shown up yet? I am in a similar situation, receiving it prior to Christmas, but have not seen it in my Candidate Portal yet.

I was notified that I received a nomination on 12/21 and it showed up on the same day. However, I am sure it is different for everyone. I am not sure exactly who imputs it, it might be done on a regional level.

son has a nomination showing up in USNA and USMA portals. he has the 5+ items done in USNA for over a week, but no DoDMerb contact yet

Has anyone received a nomination from Gary Peters (Michigan Senator) for USMA?
My DS is on the lookout as well. Other candidates from MI on this forum seem to have received nominations via their portals (but no email) from Senator Gary Peters for USNA and USAFA. Good luck!

Same here, nothing from Senator Peters. It may be worth a call to the staffers at his office.
