Senator Peters - MI nom showed up for DS to USNA today.
Hard to tell but personally, I'd go with the smaller catchment area (the district) as with the Senator, you're conceivably competing with everyone else in the state. What advice would you give someone from a very competitive district, that got their senior senators as well.
Thanks, it was from MA-1.Congrats! We’re still waiting it's hard to. Are you MA-9 or others? I’m not sure it’s possible to get duplicate noms MOC and Senators in MA.
Our daughter is in the same boat. Her portal reads California Senator 1. She never interviewed with either Senator and has not heard a word from Padilla.I was checking my USNA portal and under nominations it says California Senator 1. I never received any emails or notifications from my Senator nor did I interview with them. Is this a bug in the system or is it legit? Thanks!
I thought your district required kids to withdrawal from the running for Senate noms if they got an MOC nom. Is that not correct? What advice would you give someone from a very competitive district, that got their senior senators as well.

Yes they do, I was just curious and asked him since OldRetSWo is a long standing 10+ year member on this site and has probably seen a lot and answered a lot of people's questions. My son got his nomination from our senior senator, but our district works with the senators so we didnt have to worry about informing them of duplicate nominations especialky since he only applied to the USAFA. Applying to an SA, is such a unique experience and not like the typical college application process, so it's interesting to hear questions and ask more for future classes that may have the same ones.I thought your district required kids to withdrawal from the running for Senate noms if they got an MOC nom. Thanks. This process is so confusing and it seems like there are several black boxes to contend with. We should all be issued Master's degrees in Service Academy logistics at the end of this.Yes they do, I was just curious and asked him since OldRetSWo is a long standing 10+ year member on this site and has probably seen a lot and answered a lot of people's questions. Exactly and lol yes!!Thanks. This process is so confusing and it seems like there are several black boxes to contend with. We should all be issued Master's degrees in Service Academy logistics at the end of this.
This may be the case in your specific district since in general, either the senators/MOCs will ask kids to withdraw their application if they have already received a nom from another source, or MOCs and senators will coordinate to make sure that each kid does not get more than one nom in order to give out noms to more people (as @BBMomma stated). However, a few states/districts do not do this, which is why it is possible for some kids in certain states/districts to get both a senatorial + MOC nom.I thought your district required kids to withdrawal from the running for Senate noms if they got an MOC nom. Yeah, my son just told me the same thing a few minutes ago. He reports back to school on Saturday, so if it doesn't show up before then, I get the terror of opening the letter for him!
We received the letter, But I cannot open it because my son is at school and it will be no good to do thatYes!! My daughter got the same email!!!
Great news......and best of luck! I can see from our informed delivery that our letter should be in our mailbox today as well.........fingers crossed!!We received the letter, But I cannot open it because my son is at school and it will be no good to do that
Thank you! I do not think that he received it though, but like many of us here, plans B, C and D are in motion. One way or another, he'll accomplish what he wants.Great news......and best of luck! Out of curiosity what makes you think he didn't get it? What MD district are you?Thank you! I do not think that he received it though, but like many of us here, plans B, C and D are in motion. One way or another, he'll accomplish what he wants.
Gut feeling, you know? We are in MD-08Out of curiosity what makes you think he didn't get it? What MD district are you?
I am team Ironman,We're in the same boat (in MD-03). Don't think my son will get one as well. He didn't last year from Senators or the MOC (only to USAFA and USMA). While he did well in his interviews, we are just in a super competitive area for people who want to get into Annapolis.
Guess he'll find out today or tomorrow on the nom possibility!
We are MD-8 as well....Gut feeling, you know? We are in MD-08
So Van Hollen decisions are coming.....has anyone heard about Cardin yet? We're in the same boat (in MD-03). Don't think my son will get one as well.
