Got my TWE as well from Smith, but I checked my portal on Saturday and saw a nomination from my MOC.

Smith and Klobuchar coordinate-if you get a nom from one, you won’t likely get the other. I don’t think they coordinate with congresspersons - at least that was our experience last year. The senators are more than a month earlier than last year (not an election year this year).

Does anyone know how long it takes from time if nomination to seeing it on the portal. DS received nom over a week ago but it still isn’t on his portal.

SA offices, like all administrative govt offices, have many employees out on leave. Basic essential operations will be maintained, but it is likely the processing rate for routine admin tasks will be slowed down. With approaching deadlines for nom slates and applications, the incoming data flow is constant. Work output will pick back up in early January.

True story - So wifey calls me in the middle of the day today crying and says "I got a phone call". I think the worst and that someone died so I started to brace myself. She continues to cry and so I said "Who called?". She replies in greek or some foreign language mumbling I don't understand but I recognize the words "Ted Cruz". So I say "TED CRUZ?!?". Shes says "Yes, Ted Cruz!". I say "Did something happen to Ted Cruz?" There's more crying and I'm still clueless to what is going on and then she gets composure and said "Ted Cruz's office called and offered DS a nomination!". Then a lot more crying. DS phone died earlier this week and they'd been trying to reach him so they called my wife whose number was listed as our home phone. He called them back and accepted.

We're all in pretty much in shock as we live in a very competitive district and didn't expect a nomination. One of our older sons went through this process without a nomination despite an amazing resume so we've felt the pain. His story ended well as he went plan B and it was perfect for him.

It's been a great day. DS is so happy. He's 3Q w/o a LOA so we're still not there but to get that call was so awesome. Hang in there to everyone as it sounds like they're starting to send out the noms.

Fantastic Story! Congratulations!

Fantastic Story! Congratulations!

Thank you! That was a great day. Yesterday was even better -- DS received letter from MOC. TBH, we didn't expect anything but we're shocked to see he received not 1 but 2 noms! DS is so humbled to see people believe in him. He was telling me this morning how much harder he is going to try to honor the people of our district for nominating him. He really said that out of the blue, not his parents. Regardless of the outcome, this experience will result in maturing that will have lifelong benefits. With three nominations now, we're all realizing things are about to get real. We're not counting chickens before they hatch but the probably is going way up now.

Best to everyone! And to those who don't get the nom or appt, plan B may be the better plan. This happened to one of my other sons and we acknowledge how much Plan B was better meant for him rather than a SA.

I have verified that Angie Craig's will go out after the "first of the year" but not heard about Klobuchar. Thinking that hers have not come out yet but unconfirmed. That would be consistent with last year from your experience.

Logic would tell you where the largest population centers are, epecially those with military associations.

The candidate’s competition are those fully qualified applicants in his or her District.

Hi all. First time posting. My DS got a call from Rep. Walkers office with his nomination last week. His portal was updated a few days later. So happy for him! Good luck to all those still waiting.

In New Jersey, it is not the districts with bases, it is the districts with the best high schools.
