This is not uncommon in less competitive districts. I also received nominations from both congressmen and our single state representative. It is not a direct advantage (ie it doesn’t give your profile extra point per say) but it simply means you compete on more slates and thus, theoretically at least, have a better chance for an appointment.

Big fancy "do not bend" envelope arrived today for my DS from the Hawaii Senator he interviewed with! He saw the nomination for USNA from the Senator in his portal before Christmas, but there's something so satisfying about tangible proof! Makes it more real somehow.
