Is an interview for a congressional nomination a good sign, or is it typically the first step for those seeking a nomination?

I received an email from my Congressman Office, asking for an interview on Oct. 30, at 9:00 AM
In PA at least, it was if your application was complete, then the senators and your MOC would schedule you for an interview.

Received an e-mail from CA Senator Padilla's office today that everything has been received. I logged back into my application checklist on his website and confirmed a full page of green checkmarks.

Does anyone have any updates concerning the Senator Padilla application? I have completed everything, but I am unable to submit it because my questionnaire is still marked incomplete even though I submitted it months ago. It says that the questionnaire still needs to be verified by his office and will be marked complete afterward. I tried reaching out to his office about a week ago through email to follow up, but I have not heard back. Is anyone else experiencing this as well? I do not want to email again because I do not want to bug them, but I am getting a little worried since the application closes on November 1st. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Just received confirmation today that all the "part" of my application have been completed. Hopefully you did too.

Hello,
I was wondering if any PA applicants received notification of selection for an interview with either Senator Toomey or Casey. It was my understanding that selections would be made the week of October 18th for Senator Casey.

If they follow in years past, if your application is complete, both will offer interviews. Both my DD and DS received interviews from both. Casey's are all usually at Indiantown Gap, Toomey's panels usually have 3 locations across the state depending on where you live is where you will be scheduled.

In Colorado here... my boy is scheduled on the 30th for a panel interview with the congressman’s team and got an email last week that both his senators want interviews and are scheduling them early November.

Does anyone have any recommendations for him? He has solid reasoning as to why he wants to be an officer, what major and all of his future aspirations, but we had heard from previous Candidates that there is a lot of questions about current ongoing in the military and how he would handle these situations... is this accurate and how can he prepare for these sort of questions. What else should he expect? He’s traveled all over the world without us and has been in leadership roles a ton, so he carries himself well and can conversate with anyone but I’ve done governmental panel interviews and they are a little intimidating, so looking for advice for him.

In Vegas over here, waiting for one LOR before everything is complete. I love teachers who wait until the last minute before the application is due even though I sent the request two months ago.

He has to be his authentic self. He should be well versed on current events and know allies and our antagonists. He should be able to articulate his why. He should be able to answer tough ethical questions.
He should be willing to take a deep breath and ask for a brief respite to think about a question and compose his response.
He should be confident without being arrogant.
He should not be a robot. He should be able to show them who he is. Not be perfect. Be the only future leader he could be in that interview.

Does anyone have Senator Padilla? My DD submitted her application a week ago and it still doesn’t have the check mark. Says under review. Same with her LORs. Anyone who’s sent in application know how long it takes? Deadline is a week away.

Hey I’m applying to the USNA and I live in NY District 3 (Tom Suozzi). I applied for Senator Schumer and Gillibrand’s nomination as well as Representative Suozzi’s. I figured I’d make this thread for any additional information or tips on nominations in NY. I heard that it’s a lot harder to get the Senators nomination especially in NY but does anyone know if NY District-3 is competitive? Do most people get scheduled for interviews and if you do, when do you find out if you got the nom?

The mods will probably fold this into the single annual thread for nominations, so they don’t proliferate.
