Hi Cody! The best you can do is apply and try your best from this point on. Focus on academics, finding a leadership role, and stick to a few clubs. Work on getting your grades up while taking challenging courses. Retake the ACT and if your scores improve greatly, you will have a better chance. One thing I would extremely recommend (This would save you and almost guarantee you getting in if you could get it)- Get blue chipped. This is extremely hard and difficult to get and only the top athletes in your school (College level) would recieve this, but if you are looking to play a sport for an academy and an excellent athlete, this would be a great opportunity.

And hey, if you don't get in, you can go to ROTC or a Preparatory school for your desired academy! Once (If) you graduate from the Preporatory school, you are able to attend a military academy!
Another option is having a gap year or two or even three. In fact, a lot of mids and officers I have met did this. Which means they attended a regular college/university for a year or more. He/she would reapply to their desired academy. (I even know a guy that kept applying and he finally got accepted on his fourth try/year). If this is you true dream, just stay motivated and dont give up:) There are plenty of options and remember to follow your heart! Hope this helped! Best of luck Cody!:)

Quick Question...Are you appointed to NAPS or the USAFA prep school, or do you apply?

NAPS and USAFA Prep is offered to certain candidates who applied to the SA but are determined to possibly benefit from a year of preparation.

You cannot apply for prep.
