Thanks for this information. If the majority of MOCs use this method it would seem that candidates cannot really count being on the slate as having a nom. Correct?
Incorrect. The candidates all have a nomination. Only one will get an appointment. Whalerty's post above should read:
3- Competitive. All 10 nominees compete, with West Point deciding which 1 gets the appointment. Most MOCs use this one, as it assures the least "political" favoritism.
