I can't help you with this year, but we are from NC and my DS went through the process last year. He is currently a doolie at USAFA. Last year he heard from Tillis first, had interview in Charlotte on Dec 3. He was informed of the nom quickly and Tillis held a very nice award presentation mid-December.
He did not hear from Burr until after Tillis process was completed. There was a good bit of speculation that Burr would not nominate anyone that Tillis had nominated. I have no way of knowing if this is true or not, but my DS had a letter from Burr about a week after receiving his Tillis nom stating that he was not selected for an interview. Also heard that last year Burr's interviews were scheduled during a snow storm and had to be canceled. They were unable to reschedule and he/his panel selected noms just from the application material.
Our district congressman did not hold interviews and just informed of the nom in January.
Last year we heard (I believe from ALO) that NC noms typically come in late so appointments from the MOC slates tend to come out later as well. DS heard his news mid-March.
Good luck to you!
