I can't help you with this year, but we are from NC and my DS went through the process last year. He is currently a doolie at USAFA. Last year he heard from Tillis first, had interview in Charlotte on Dec 3. He was informed of the nom quickly and Tillis held a very nice award presentation mid-December.

He did not hear from Burr until after Tillis process was completed. There was a good bit of speculation that Burr would not nominate anyone that Tillis had nominated. I have no way of knowing if this is true or not, but my DS had a letter from Burr about a week after receiving his Tillis nom stating that he was not selected for an interview. Also heard that last year Burr's interviews were scheduled during a snow storm and had to be canceled. They were unable to reschedule and he/his panel selected noms just from the application material.

Our district congressman did not hold interviews and just informed of the nom in January.

Last year we heard (I believe from ALO) that NC noms typically come in late so appointments from the MOC slates tend to come out later as well. DS heard his news mid-March.

Good luck to you!

Our MOC adjusted his application deadline to November 1, so it will be a bit before DS hears anything about an interview. TX - 22

Cornyn’s Board is meeting on November 14. Cruz should be around that timeframe as well.

I'm wondering if the two senators carve the state in half... would explain why some postcards don't get returned.

It is not 25, I have a friend in 25 and he has gotten his interview.

Really? All the interviews are Nov 18 for 25. He either must be really qualified or mistaken about the district. If its the former then I am really at a disadvantage...

Posters,

I have merged all of the individual state nomination threads into this one. The staff of SAF has found that starting individual threads for each state, whether it is for nominations, appointments, interviews, etc. does not work well for the forum. The vast amount of threads pushes all other discussion off the front page and lessens the experience for everyone. Any new threads that are started for individual states will be deleted. Thank you for your time.

We are also in TX-22. Son is a reapplicant. Last year son's interview was in early December and received notice of his being selected for a TX-22 nomination in mid /late January.

What are your son's stats if you don't mind me asking?

Same incredible high school stats as everyone else on the boards. 1400 +Sat
HS 4.3 , 5s on AP calc, physics, chemistry tests etc... leadership, athletics etc... He was NOT selected for an appointment last year.

He's now a freshman in university honors program at Texas A&M, AFROTC scholarship majoring in Aerospace Engineering, taking an academy like schedule, fish in the corps of cadets. Grades are all As and now a B in Chemistry Lab. Has maxed out fitness assessment for AFROTC and Corps.

Hopefully being successful as a fish in an academy like environment taking an advanced courseload will be improving his chances for an appointment. If not.. he's still in one of the most outstanding AFROTC units in the country, getting a degree and will be an officer just like those who went to the Academy.

Just wondering if anyone has received an interview date from Congressman MacArthur’s office?

Congrats, handymaninheels. To confirm, is that a nomination from Senator Rubio? Because if so, that is a month earlier than his office said they were going to release nominations.

Yes, it's for Sen. Rubio. We were surprised at the early date nom was given as well.

Which academy is your DS interested in and is he a recruited athlete/promising intercollegiate athlete? What are his stats?

Excellent. Congratulations. Still waiting here.

When did Schumer (NY) send out emails for interviews in 2016-2017? The amount of waiting has changed since my first son went through this process in 2015.. in 2015 my first son already had all his nom interviews by now and already had an loa.. seems like the academies are waiting a lot longer to give answers now

Also son was put on hold pending nom and 7th semester grades.. is this something to inform the nominating authorities of?
