Correct. It took me finally reading the congressional handbook to understand the various methods of nomination, so no need to apologize!Kinda new here so forgive the question, but does the last response mean that for the USAFA , the nomination is one where the candidate won the slate or was top candidate; and the other nominations are competive?
Last year their second round of interviews were around this time. DD had her MOC nomination in writing by the 10th of Dec 2016. I'm pretty certain everyone gets an interview unless you already have an appointment.Has anyone in New Jersey heard back from Booker or Menedez? Or does anyone know when they typically let candidates know? Thanks!
Ok Everyone - have a question on Nominations. DS got a letter from MOC which reads: “ I have nominated you as a Congressional Competitor to the USNA and USMMA. In addition you have also been chosen to receive a nomination to the USAFA.”
Any ideas how to interpret “Congressional competitor” and why would the wording be different for USAFA?
Al Franken's office "postponed" interviews 3 days before when they were to happen. Now he's announced his upcoming resignation. His office isn't taking calls. Does anyone know what could/might become of the interviews and or nominations from his office?
That's disappointing they word it that way.Got a response from MOC Office - all three nominations are actually on Competitive Slates... no principal nominee in any of them. They just word it this way.
I guess this is a similar question to several above, and I apologize if this is repetitive, but this is somewhat confusing and we are new to this. DS received his nomination letter from our MOC this past weekend. It says "I have submitted your name to the USMA, the USAFA and the USNA to compete for appointments to the classes entering in July 2018". So from reading the earlier responses, DS is competing against the national list of other candidates? Also, is it normal for a candidate to receive all three MA nominations or do they usually only receive their top one or two choices? Thanks!

Hi, if you wouldn’t mind sharing, which MOC did you hear from? I’m from MA district 6. I don’t think I can answer your question for your specific case, but I do know that my congressman (Seth Moulton) nominates for multiple academies. A friend of mine who is now at USAFA got nominations from Moulton for USNA, USAFA, and USMA last year. Hope this helps! Good luck to your DS.
My DS emailed both Booker and Menendez offices last Thursday 12/7 to inquire when notifications for nominations will be sent out.Has anyone in New Jersey heard back from Booker or Menedez? Or does anyone know when they typically let candidates know? Thanks!
Any heard any news from the Texas Senators yet?
DD just got a USNA Nom today from TX-31, so we're just anxiously awaiting those Senate ones now! [emoji572][emoji4]Nothing yet. TX-10 came in but nothing from either senator.
A virtue, but a tough one, to be sure! [emoji41]I've been reading this forum for months, but this is my first post. We're waiting to hear from the TX Senators as well. Our MOC notified my DS that he would conduct interviews in January. Patience truly is a virtue!
