You don't say how competitive he is (CFA, Academics, Extra curriculars), but remember MOC noms are not required to be in until January 31st, and in a lot of states MOC's coordinate their noms and that takes time. And you are likely correct in that some MOC's do not interview, but conduct a "paper" review" of a candidate. Most will call at some point with either a "Congratulations" or a "sorry it was just too competitive". Don't panic yet, it's still early so to speak.

DD did not receive interview date/time until 1 week prior to interview dates. Notices were emailed. One of them went to spam. Has your DS checked that?

He’s competitive. CFA is good, 3.95 GPA, Billy Mitchell award at CAP, sports etc

Big news for DS today! He received a nomination via a personal phone call from our Congressional Representative, who said he would be granting him one of his nominations. DS was humbled and excited, as was I. Very nice of our rep to make a personal phone call.
We are in NJ, as you may have guessed. I've read not to mention our congressional district, so PM me if you'd like to know.
DS has an LOE and WAS medically qualified, but is now under DODMERB waiver review after October ankle surgery. He should be fine by the end of next month, however.

Cornyn does not interview, says so on this year's application, that's why there are 8 short answer/essays.
Hope you hear something soon.
I'd have DS try again with phone/email this week.
Ask your GC as well; maybe they have experience with prior candidates.

We’re pretty confused in our household. DS has had interviews with USNA, USAFA, USMA. He has submitted packets prior deadlines to all three congressional options. We are in Texas. We know Senator Cruz has made his calls and so we realize it seems he didn’t get a nomination there. We’ve heard nothing from Cornyn’s office or Cuellar’s office. Not even for an interview. Cornyn may not interview. Cuellar does interview and interviews were to take place in December. We feel we should have heard regarding the scheduling of the interview at the very least. We’ve received no LOD’s so I guess that is good. Nothing on DS’s portal. When a candidate is not going to receive a nomination are they notified that they won’t? Or is no news actually news of no nomination?

No one has reported any Sen. Cornyn nominations but I second @HCopter's recommendation to follow up with Rep. Cuellar's office to see if they are having interviews or what. Some's MOC's don't.

Anyone else heard from Senator Kamala Harris, I never received my self-addressed postcard back nor have I been contacted even though I submitted all of the materials...?

Our DS received his NOM to USMA from Cruz yesterday via a call from a staffer. We are in TX-26. DS is 3Q and has an USMA LOA, so he is excited to be done (awaiting appointment). We were truly perplexed not to get a nom from Congressman Burgess, however, as our DS has multiple LOAs, and was hoping to have more time to decide between USNA and USMA. Our DS now has to attend the Blue and Gold dinner with no nom. This has truly been an odyssey, not unlike a 'camel' (a horse designed by a committee).

I think you mean the North Texas USNAAA Blue Chip dinner 12/18/2019?
DD is in the same situation. We are going anyway! I don't want to hijack this important thread, so will post a review in Service Academy Events later.

Point is: Our MOC is not yet complete with interviews; the Board is staggering them over several weeks; if I had to guess, they will notify in mid January (new MOC & new staff; first time to conduct interviews).

Son just received nomination certificate for both USNA and West Point from Congrassman Massie (Ky). He has not had interviews with Senators yet, I am assuming it is best to continue on with intervoews to increase changes of acceptance?

Congrats! It is my understanding that most Senators do not hold personal interviews given the volume of applications they receive. Additionally, most Senatorial selection boards are in communication with the local Congressional Districts of applicants to de-conflict their nomination slates. It is debatable as to whether or not it is important to have more than one nom. Depending on how the MOC submits their slate (ranked, unranked, principal), it could help the candidate.

My suggestion would be to continue the process and if there is an interview request, ask the Senator board if they are open to double nominating a candidate because you have already received a Congressional and out of respect for the board member time, you are open to not interviewing if that is their preference.
